Verve Management debuted our interactive social media visualization wall at Hennessy’s Global Wild Rabbit event with special guests Timbaland, Missy Elliot, and Erykah Badu. The wall consisted of a word photo projection as well as “vervify” our custom Twitter visualization.
For the word photo display, Hennessy girls walked around the event taking pictures of guests on iPads. The photos were then re-created on the fly using textual phrases that tied into Hennessy’s Wild Rabbit campaign, then uploaded live to our visualization wall where guests could immediately see themselves recreated as textual art.
In addition to the word photo display, we introduced Vervify into the projection display. Vervify is a real-time visualization of the latest twitter messages (tweets) around a specific topic. It provides a sense of the temporal dynamics in the twitter stream, and emphasizes the conversational threads established by retweets and @replies.
This visualization that you see here in this video is a real-time display of the latest 200 twitter messages for the query “@hennessyus” and #wildrabbit”. “Important” tweets (i.e. tweets that have many replies or retweets) are displayed larger. When new tweets are available, they are displayed first. Otherwise, a random tweet is selected with a bias towards more recent and more important tweets.
The incorporation of the word photo and Vervify elements into our live presentation added an exciting, fresh element to the event where guests were immersed in the viral conversations that were taking place on social media surrounding the event they were attending live as it was happening.
